Citizen science outreach webinars

As the head citizen science project coordinator, I created several educational videos for a group of volunteers helping conduct a statewide camera trapping survey known as North Carolina Candid Critters. See the link below to watch some of the videos we created!

Expedition Colorado

presentation at Expedition Colorado, an annual educational field trip held for 4th grade students. However, for 2021, the 'field' portion of this trip was cancelled due to Covid-19. Instead, I shared my research with these young students online through a short educational video.

Featured in "tracking pythons"

I had the opportunity to work on a python-tracking research team in the Everglades that was shadowed by award-winning children’s author Kate Messner. She captured both the significance of our invasive-species work and the team’s more energetic moments as we searched for and captured snakes.

North Carolina Green STEM Student Conference

In 2019, I was an invited speaker to an annual conference featuring environmental and place based STEM Career exploration, citizen science and community service at Craven Community College.
